Dear Sky, Thank you so much for your recipe tips; they sound yum! I feel for your lack of pizza. I moved to regional Australia four years ago and every friday night I count my blessings for the wood-fired pizzeria Milk & Honey in Mullumbimby, NSW. Our regular order (a mushroom and a margherita with anchovies and olives) is so regular that if we miss a week, we get asked whether we have been on holiday. Thank you once again for your kind words and for taking the time to leave a comment. I very much appreciate it. Kind regards, Maurizio

Dear Viv,
What a wonderful message! Thank you so very much for taking the time to write it. I am so pleased that you enjoyed reading my article. Nano truly has the amazing gift of touching people's heart. I am interested in creativity and beauty and - having seen him in concert - tracking him down and interviewing him seemed the logical thing to do. It did take a bit of confidence, which - I have to admit - is a scarce commodity on The Pocket Road but I am learning that whenever I do decide that unleash my curiosity about another human being, I am rewarded by beautiful portraits - either in images or in words - which is a heartwarming enriching experience. Thank you again for your perceptive and eloquent words. Kind regards, Maurizio

Hi Maurizio,
Thanks for the illuminating article about one amazing and illuminated human, Nano Stern. I saw him in Canberra 3 years ago, and to my delight, yesterday in my home town at Womadelaide. I was asking myself the same question- how is it that he can make his heart and humanity so accessible to the public? I mean, it's one hell of a gift he has and gives-intangible presence and a force of love that makes you walk away feeling so much better about being alive.
So thank you for tracking him down, having the curiosity and confidence to ask for an interview and for asking the question. It was really nice to hear Nano's beautiful answer to the question.
It was a beautiful, clear-skied autumn day in Adelaide yesterday and during his performance, in his sublime Chilean accent, referred to the 'sacred trees' that were forming a canopy above the stage. From someone else's mouth it might well have sounded like a groan-inducing cliche but from Nano it was just true, no question about it. Long may he reign; the world needs him.
