Welcome to The Pocket Road. The purpose of this website is to provide information about beautiful places, their people, stories and beauty and, most of all, direct you to the best cafes. I only write about places I know: I either live there, work there or have visited recently. My wife and I have had numerous arguments over map reading and I have learned how frustrating it is to attempt following unclear directions so I strive to provide enough –sometimes redundant- details for you to easily follow my steps. I try to observe the places I find myself in with a kind, sharp, sometimes humorous eye.
I like photography and I capture and share beauty whenever I come across it. I try to be fair and won’t take candid shots of recognisable people. I ask my subjects for permission to photograph, whenever that is feasible (but if they are either on stage or in a parade, they are game).
Whether you are planning a trip or dabble in armchair travelling or you like having beautiful images delivered to your computer, I hope you’ll enjoy perusing this website. Please consider subscribing. If you do, I’ll send you periodic updates when new content is available. I won’t share your details with anyone else and you’ll have the option to easily unsubscribe, if you grow bored of my messages.
Thank you for visiting, please stay long enough to enjoy all the information available and please call again soon. If you have time, drop me a line. I would love to hear from you.
Once again, thank you for spending time on The Pocket Road.
